“Adventure should be part of everyone's life. It is the whole difference between being fully alive and just existing.” -Holly Morris
Set in one of Montana’s most beautiful valleys, our Women's Fly Fishing School is an all-inclusive luxury retreat built around world class fly fishing instruction. Whether you are new to fly fishing or a seasoned angler looking to refine your skill set, professional guide Kara Tripp and founder of Damsel Fly Fishing has the knowledge and experience to help you reach your goals.
The Women's fly fishing school and retreat will be hosted at the award-winning Madison Valley Ranch which boasts sweeping big sky views, a private, two-acre pond filled with feisty trout, access to the famous "channels" section of the Madison River, and one of a kind four-course gourmet dinners that are as pretty as they are delicious. Located just two miles north of charming and historic Ennis, students can also spend their down time exploring the quaint shops lining beautiful Main Street.
Each day's instruction will build on the previous day's lesson and will include:
- casting instruction, from roll cast to double haul
- entomology and fly selection
- fly fishing tactics: nymphs, dry flies and streamers
- reading the water/fish habitat
- practical knots
- proper fish handling
- wading safely
By the end of the fly fishing school, our goal is that students will have gained essential knowledge to safely and confidently head out to their local water in the pursuit of trout.
